Managing Editor, consumer finance
Andrew Williams
Technology editor, database expert, and content leader with extensive newsroom experience at The Seattle Times, MSN, ESPN, and the San Jose Mercury News. Holds a journalism degree from San Francisco State University.
Andrew joined Carolina Railroad Loans in 2026 as one of the site’s founding editors, helping build its content team from scratch. As assigning editor for banking and consumer finance, he guides coverage of borrowing topics — personal loans, auto loans, refinancing, credit scores, APR, interest rates, repayment terms, underwriting, and lender comparison — and led the expansion into taxes and household financial decisions.
With a background in both editing and site programming, Andrew brings a technical, data-oriented approach to loan-related publishing: databases, content management systems, structured data, comparison tables, calculators, and FAQs that present complex lending information clearly and consistently. His workflow underpins the site’s accuracy checks and scalable content operations.
Before joining the site, Andrew spent more than a decade at ESPN as an editor and site programmer, and worked as a copy editor at the San Jose Mercury News — newsroom editing, publishing systems, technical content operations, and quality at scale, now applied to financial and loan-related editorial projects.
